[pic] PROCESS FLOW CHART (COLD ROLLED CLOSE ANNEALED STEEL STRIP) [pic][pic] RAW MATERIAL AND SOURCES The crude material for creation of CRSS is ââ¬ËHot Rolled Steel coilsââ¬â¢ and these HR loops are delivered by utilizing ââ¬Å"primary roughing millsâ⬠which is a 2-HI turning around factory with a 0. 6 to 1. 4 mm distance across rolls. The principle reason for the plant is to lessen throwing ingots into blossoms. The work piece must be spend 10-20 times between the moves, to have an ideal width, the work piece is made to go through ââ¬Å"edge groovesâ⬠. HR colis are likewise delivered in ââ¬ËUniversal Millsââ¬â¢ without edge grooves. These curls are fundamentally low carbon prepares which are either ââ¬ËSiââ¬â¢ or ââ¬ËAlââ¬â¢ executed. Details: Range 1. width 1350-1800 mm 2. SPECTROSCOPY Chemical investigation: Chemical organization of prepares is checked by methods for SPECTRO. By and large C, Si, Mn, P, S, Cr, Mo, Ni, Al, Cu, Nb, Ti, V, Sn, B, and N are broke down. Test system for spector is as beneath. Readiness of test: ? The example must be liberated from slag considerations, rust, oil, oil, crack, voids. ? The example must be convenient for cleaning. ? The element of the example must be fit on the sparkle stand. ? The example must be level (to get totally situated on the sparkle stand). The example is set up on the grating circle processor by utilizing appropriate abrasives having 60 evaluation coarseness. Strategy for Testing: The spectro lab is turned on half-n-hour before starting for heating up. The sparkle stand is flushed with grade-I argon for few moments before starting. Before starting the obscure, the essential norm/inside gauges are starte d and results are thought about. In the event that the outcomes saw as alright starting of the obscure example is done by keeping the readied obscure examples on sparkle remain in transformed position and is clipped and starting is completed. On the off chance that the outcomes are found not alright, the spectro lab is normalized with setting up tests (RE12, RE13, RE14, 5 SUS 5) provided alongside spectro lab. |[pic] | Each example is started for least multiple times and the normal outcomes are recorded and print is taken out and the structure is known. These HR loops are sent to HR slitters.. HR SLITTERS Hot moved curls are slitted as wanted to give material to cold-rolling. Arrangements are typically acids or alkalies, frequently with expansion of an inhibitors to limit assault on the hidden metal. Run of the mill answers for plain carbon prepares are: 5% HCl + 0. 05% Galvene at 15-500 C PROCESS: The point of pickling is to evacuate the oxidation scales and rust framed during hot rolling. At first the HR slitted curl strip is gone through three tanks called the ACID TANKS or PROCESS (Tanks 1, 2 and 3) in which the business HCL (Hydro Chloric Acid) corrosive is available with greatest grouping of 20%. In this pickling all the rust and scales on the sheet are evacuated. When the sheet is gone through corrosive tanks it is then gone through wash water tanks 1, 2 and 3. This is done so on the grounds that after the loop is gone through the corrosive tanks the corrosive will be available on the curl/sheet. At the point when we clean with delicate water then it gets ok for the administrator. When the loop/sheet is washed there are odds of getting eroded again that are the reason water is emptied away out of the curl/sheet by sight-seeing drier lastly applied emulsion (Castrol) oil on the curl to forestall erosion. The details of corrosive tanks 1, 2 and 3 are recorded beneath: Acid Tank - 1 Acid fixation : 2-7% % Iron substance : 22max Temperature : 55-70oC Acid Tank-2 Acid focus : 6-12% % Iron substance : 22max Temperature : 50-65oC Acid Tank-3 Acid focus : 9-16% Iron substance : 20max Temperature : 45-60oC Types of pickling hardware: â⬠¢ Cage picklers â⬠¢ Push pull picklers â⬠¢ Semi-consistent pickle lines â⬠¢ Shallow picklers â⬠¢ Turbulent pickling â⬠¢ Spiral pickling. In pennar businesses, we use semi-constant pickling . [pic] The fundamental responses which occur during pickling are: Fe0+2HCl ( FeCl2+H2O Fe+2HCl ( FeCl2+H2 Care ought to be taken during pickl ing to forestall the pitting, little openings and development of spots on the loop due to over pickling will diminish the thickness of the sheet. At the point when the pickling procedure is going on, by titration process we need to check he level of corrosive and iron in the tanks. TITRATION PROCESS: Titration process is completed to know the level of iron and corrosive substance in the tanks. This is provided that the iron substance surpasses the reasonable level(20% Fe Content) in corrosive tank, at that point corrosive is to be taken off and new corrosive is included the tanks to do pickling. Take 20ml of refined water in a cone shaped cup. Include 0. 2ml of Hydrochloric corrosive (HCl) to it. At that point include scarcely any drops of corrosive marker named Bromophenol blue AR with compound recipe C19H10O5SBr4 to get yellow hued arrangement. Take Sodium Hydroxide (NaOH) in a burette and note down the underlying perusing. Begin titrating with NaOH arrangement till earthy colored shaded arrangement (I. e. end-point) is gotten. Note down the last perusing. The distinction of the last and the underlying perusing is resolved. From the table, the comparing level of corrosive is noted down. At that point include barely any drops of Orthophosphoric corrosive to kill the arrangement. Include scarcely any drops of iron pointer named Barium Diphenylamine Sulphonate GR with concoction equation C24H20BaN2O6S2 to acquire yellow colured arrangement. Take Potassium Dichromate (K2Cr2O7) in a burette and note the underlying perusing. Begin titrating with K2Cr2O7 arrangement till earthy colored hued arrangement (I. . end-point) is reached. Note down the last perusing. The distinction of the last and the underlying readings is resolved. From the table, the comparing level of iron is noted down. Perceptions: 1. Titration with NaOH: Initial Reading : 25. 2 Final Reading : 26. 9 Difference : 1. 7 From the table, 3. 06% of corrosive. 2. Titration with K2Cr2O7: Initial Reading : 22. 9 Final Reading : 29. 0 Difference : 6. 1 From the table, 17. 08% of iron substance. NOTE: After pickling recoilng is done with pressure and apply the emulsion oil to forestall erosion. These salted curls are prepared to next stage I. e. , cold rolling. COLD ROLLING COLD ROLLING is where the material is disfigured plastically by passing it between moves underneath recrystallisation temperature. The events at the start on the revolution opened the door for several political groups and individuals to air options about what changes should be made. The battle between these groups was not a peaceful one and lead to a very unstable and volatile government that ultimately fell to the power of Napoleon. ARTICLE SUMMARY The Doctrine of Ministerial Responsibility in Malaysia: Theory and Practice in a New Regime of Parliamentary Accountability There are some Members of Parliament (MSP) accountable as minister in Malaysia Cabinet; so, these people have two separate tasks; there is, first, the individual responsibility towards his people that he represented, and second, the collective responsibility in the government. Nevertheless, it is clear that their act is highly influenced by their political background and political parties in making decision; for example, during debating and voting process in order to pass a new bill or taxes. So the study of the accountability of Minister which is also MM is vital in order to tell the citizen the rower that he/she has when sit in both position. Individual ministerial responsibility states that a Minister is responsible for every action of his department. It would thus appear that ââ¬Ëresponsibleââ¬â¢ in this context has a rather strong meaning than in the context of collective responsibility. L In that context, it amounts to little more than an obligation than to defend and support government policy. On the other hand, reference also should be made to the two types of responsibility in example individual responsibility for policy and administration and individual responsibility or personal conduct. The division is necessary while faced with question such as: should Minister resign simply because ââ¬Ësomething went wrong in their department? Or should the Minister quit on the basis of personal behavior like a sex scandal? As we can see the scenario in Malaysia in the case of Dates Series Chartist Bad Jail quits as a Minister due to her MFC scandals (bribery) which involved her family and herself. 2 Is her decision to leave his position is relevant? In my opinion, her decision is significant because a Minister shall be responsible for her personal conduct such s sincerely and honesty. Secondly, Collective ministerial responsibility emphasizes on the unanimity of government and its responsibility to parliament. The convention requires that all ministers be Jointly responsible as a team to parliament; individual ministers may not in public express views that contradict a government policy; and should be no criticisms from the decisions in public; thus convention requires that all Ministers are bound by the decisions that are taken or recommended in Cabinet and that Cabinet discussions must remain. Hence, whatever the origin of the doctrine of ministerial responsibility, the doctrine has been incorporated into the Constitution. 3 In conclusion, we can point out that there is vagueness on occasion as to the distinction between the two types of accountability which are both closely related and also complementary to one another. This in return has made it really difficult to address or deal with the issue of effectiveness of ministerial responsibility. Take for instance the convention that a Minister who is seriously criticized in Parliament must resign, has not taken hold because the government usually rallies behind a Minister who is being criticized in Parliament. On such an occasion, collective responsibility seems to defeat the notion of individual responsibility. The convention of collective responsibility thus becomes important in achieving party solidarity but it tends to prevent the full operation of the convention of individual responsibility. To sum up, every single matter that concluded in the parliament is always been effected by partyââ¬â¢s constitutions and policies, thus the opposition can do nothing if they have different agenda and opinion to be arise and pass. Parliamentary Privilege and Its Practice in Malaysia: An Overview Parliamentary privilege is to provide the necessary remarks in which Parliament in its corporate capacity and its members as individuals can fulfill their responsibilities to the citizens whom they represent and not to protect individual Member of Parliament (MSP). 4 Under the Malaysian Federal Constitution, there are certain articles that mention about parliamentary privileges. For example, art 63 which states that the validity of any proceedings in Parliament shall not be questioned by court. 5 Apart from art 63, art 72 can also be referred to in which it provides the same validity of proceedings in the Legislative Assembly. Despite, as parliamentary privilege does not mean to protect individual MSP, art 63(4) is an exception. To implement Justice, these privileges shall not apply to any person charged with an offence. One of the privileges of Houses of Parliament is right to regulate its own internal proceedings/immunity from Judicial proceeding. Article 63(1) of Federal Constitution together with art 63(2) provides that the court cannot interfere any proceedings in Parliament as well as not liable to any proceedings regarding anything said or any vote given by Members of Parliament . Another privilege is decision as to disqualification. In this particular item, as refer to art 53(1) of the Federal Constitution states that if a member of a Parliament is disqualified, the decision shall be taken as final. There is no need for the Parliament to bring the case to the court as they have their own power. Next is freedom of speech and debate. In the article, it is said that, ââ¬Å"its essence is that no penal or coercive action should be taken against members for what is said or done in Parliamentâ⬠. 6 The protection applies to activities taken in course of or in connection with parliamentary proceedings. It must also be noted that this privilege is not personal in nature. Lastly is the freedom from arrest. In United Kingdom, this privilege does exist, but in Malaysia, no distinction in nature of the offence whether it is civil or criminal. If means rear, or the intention to commit the crime is there, no person shall be protected under this such privilege. Although these privileges are considered necessary for the proper functioning of Parliament and for the full execution of its powers, it is undeniable fact that the practice of parliamentary privilege in Malaysia faces a lot of challenges due to the fact that by asserting special owners and immunities for Parliament as a whole. And for its Members individually, Parliament throws around itself a cloak of protection which provides rights and immunities not accorded to individual citizens. In other words, when certain class of individuals are given special benefits as opposed to other class or classes of people. Issues of violations of rights and discrimination are bound to arise. This is particularly the case of Malaysia where there is a written constitution and fundamental rights are given pride place at the same time. Hence, the following are some of the challenges facing the operation of parliamentary privileges in Malaysia. Conclusively, this research helps people to know about the operation of parliamentary privileges among members of Parliament in Malaysia but it might be limited knowledge to certain people only. Thus, it is much safer if the researcher is asking the basic question about the membership. The Legislative Jurisdiction of the Federal Parliament in Matters Involving Islamic Law In this article, the writer discusses about the capacity of the federal parliament to enact laws where such laws encompass Islamic laws is with the state legislature and not with the federal parliament. There was a dispute arose when the federal reliant passed the system of Islamic banking and tactful which automatically shake the authority of the state legislature that has full authority to enact Islamic laws. Article 73 defines the Jurisdictional scope of the laws made by parliament and the legislature, with the federal laws having application over the whole or any part of the Federation and, where appropriate, outside it and States laws having authority only in the whole or any part of the State. 9 Thus, the power of the parliament is higher than the state legislative but in this case, it involve the Islamic laws which infuse the writer which types of legislature need to get involve either the parliament or the state legislature. In Federal Constitution, there are several articles that related with this case which explained in detail the role of the legislature. In Article 77 the legislature of a state shall have power to make laws with respect to any matter not enumerated in any of the Lists set out in the Ninth Schedule, not being a matter in respect which parliament has power to make laws. 0 Then the Article 75 explained if any State law is inconsistent with a federal law, the federal law shall reveal and the state law shall, to the extent of the inconsistency, be void. Al As to solve this case, the Judge refers to the Article 74 of Federal Constitution that consist the three lists. List I is the Federal List, List II is the State List and List Ill is the Concurrent List. For this case, it involve the Federal List and the State List as both lists need to be understand in detailed in order to distinguish their roles and importantly to solve this case. In Federal List, it has been stated that banking is within their role and in State List only stated that it govern only personal and family law matters of Muslims. In conclusion, the authority of the parliament in Islamic banking has been proved as matters such as banking (including Islamic banking), insurance (including tactful) and companies are in the Federal list and therefore the Federal Parliament has the Jurisdiction to enact laws to govern this matters. Parliament has the authority under the constitution to enact Islamic law in respect of all matters (including Islamic law and tactful) save those matters reserved for the States in List II. The matters covered by List II are only those that relate to Islamic personal law. This case increase our knowledge on the function and the structure of the Parliamentary system in Malaysia as for this case it gives clear view to us about the different of legislative jurisdiction between Parliament and State Legislative. Lastly, it help us to understand in deep regarding the advantages and disadvantages of the Parliament in Malaysia which in normal situation as to compare with others like Romania, Taiwan and Ukraine that within critical situation. RESEARCH OUTCOMES / ANALYSIS Background This research was conducted according to stream which was between Science students and Art students in CIFS Ill-KM. The purpose why we carried out this research is to distinguish the general knowledge between these two groups in the field of Parliamentary System in Malaysia. We had distributed 25 survey forms for each programmer. In order to ease our research we divided the questions into 3 types, which were Definition I. E. A Bill is a draft law, Functions ââ¬Ëe the function of Parliament is to enact law, and Membership of Parliament I. E. A member of Dean Engage is a Senator. Figure 1 : Graph on Analysis on the awareness of Parliamentary issues according to stream based on Definition questions. This type of questions covered he term that used in Parliament such as Bill. Basically, only the art students know about this question because they learnt this in class. While the science students may know this if they read papers and magazines. Based on the data above, 18 students from Art programmer tend to answer correctly whereas only 12 students from Science program know the right answer. It is clearly that 72% of art students answer it right. On the other hand, only 48% get the right answer while majority (58%) of them failed this question. In the nut shell, Science students do not concern and do not even know about our fundamental Parliamentary System. In an article from thetas, it said that ââ¬Å"Malaysian tend to read less as they grow older, according to Malaysian National Library director-general Dates Raisin ABA Baker . ââ¬Å"12 Besides that, the second Deputy Speaker of Ghana Parliament, Proof. Aaron Michael Quays, has called on students in the country to inculcate the habit of reading themselves, to improve on their knowledge base. According to Proof. Quays, it was only through reading that one could acquire knowledge, in order to be part of the changing world. 13 From the two sources, it is proven that the awareness of Malaysian about Parliament is low because reading is the key to knowledge but as Malaysian grow older, they tend to read less. It can also be assumed that if they did not learn it in class, they have no effort to read it and to search about it by themselves. Figure 2 : Graph on Analysis on the awareness of Parliamentary issues according to stream on Function questions. Another type of question which is the functions of Malaysian Parliament, most students from both groups know more about this topic. It can be seen that the number of students that concern and aware more about the functions is higher than other topic of questions. They might aware more due to the exposition of media. For example, in thetas online, there was a news about functions of Parliament which is to enact law, ââ¬Å"PITUITARY: The Government will table the International Transfer of Prisoners (TOP) bill 2012 when parliament reconvenes this Swept 24, in a bid to bring home Malaysian locked up abroad. ââ¬Å"14 According to the research, even though the number of the students that aware increased, Arts Students still conquer the topic. Based on the graph above, it shows that arts students know more about Malaysian Parliamentary system. The number of arts dents that have more knowledge about this topic is 19, 2 students more than sciences students which is 17 only. Figure 3 : Graph on Analysis on the awareness of Parliamentary issues according to stream on Membership of Parliament questions. In terms of question of membership of Parliament, one study has found that Arts students are more concern about this type of questions. Based on the graph, it shows that among 25 students, 15 of them answer the questions correctly. In contrast, there are only 10 students of sciences programmer know about the membership of Parliamentary in Malaysia whereas 1 5 students do not concern very well about this tater. To be proven, different programmer have different awareness due to their subjects which are not related to this issue. In short, the topic on Membership of Parliament is rarely published in the media, this is the reason why less Sciences Students know about this. Media do play an important role in giving knowledge, especially with the topic that they do not learn in class. In Nepal newspaper, The Rising Nepal, an author stated the role of media in his article, ââ¬Å"It plays a deciding role in assessing the political performance of the parties and the government. ââ¬Å"15 Figure : Graph on Analysis on the awareness of Parliamentary issues according to stream. Overall, the graph illustrates the awareness of arts students pertaining to Parliamentary issues is slightly higher that sciences students. Unfortunately, the number of the students who are concern about this issue is not satisfying. From 50 students, only 9 arts students and 3 sciences students claim that they aware about Parliamentary issues which is only 24% from students in CIFS Ill-KM. our assumptions towards arts students especially Law students slumped when they themselves confess that they do not care much about this matter. In previous graphs, hey answer it correctly because they learnt it in class. On the other hand, this type of question talked about awareness which is something they get outside classes and by their own effort. As we mentioned before, usually students in Malaysia read less. Consequently, they do not have any knowledge about it and this symptom will make them failed to think out of the box. LIMITATION The hindrances that we encountered while conducting our research can be observed in distributing our survey forms and the article summary. At first, it took many hours in finding the articles on given topics and after we found the articles, it was very official to understand what the articles were all about. Such matter would lead to problems when summarizing all three articles, because understanding was important in summarizing the articles. Based on an article by Sir Swami Administrationââ¬â¢s, said that ââ¬Å"there is also an importance in developing our understanding, even if it seems somewhat esoteric and unnecessary compared to our normal practices. Because the truth is, unless we develop some understanding of what weââ¬â¢re seeking, even if we discover it, we wonââ¬â¢t likely be able to recognize it. 16 Another limitation that emerged during our research was some students did not give lull cooperation while answering our survey. For example, some of them Just filled out the answer without reading the question. Then, there were certain students who did know the answers, but they pretended like they knew it and answered wrongly. This might lead to some problems when making a conclusion. While conducting our research, the facilities in CIFS are considered as good. The process of finding the articles was easy although there were some limitations regarding the slow internet of Wi-If in Ill-KM. Next, the cooperation among members of the group was very indeed needed in giving idea to understand the articles very well. In our opinion, based on what had happened, group members should be more considerate and cooperative as we need each other in the future. CONCLUSION We certainly achieved our objective which is to differentiate the knowledge of arts students and sciences students regarding Parliamentary System in Malaysia. We also provide a few information about the Malaysian Parliament to those who have no idea about what is parliament during the survey process in order to create a new generation that have great concern about our own legal system. Although we have provide some knowledge to the students but we also gain a little bit knowledge urine this research process in detailed during the process of searching facts about the parliament of other nations. For instance, we learnt others name of parliament like in Afghanistan called Short, in Azerbaijan called Millie Majors and Croatia called Saber. 17 Another example, we also have learnt the current situation of our own parliament and others which expose us to the new world of parliament that shows huge different as to compare with our parliament. For recommendation, the university should provide specific subjects that compulsory to all students like history hat enhance their basic knowledge of Malaysia. Apart from that, Malaysiaââ¬â¢s media should show more programs about Malaysia legal system to give a extra knowledge about politics in Malaysia to all Malaysian. In research projects, informed consent is very important. Research and behavioral study are very important fields in psychology. If a research on a specific group of people or an individual is conducted without informed consent, the research findings and recommendations are deemed to be unreliable and lack authenticity. Such research could lead to the prosecution o f the researchers, as it is illegal and raises major ethical issues. The main aim in the creation of the informed consent rule was mainly to shield people from the medical practices of psychology. The rule clearly stipulates that no research can be conducted without the involved partyââ¬â¢s knowledge and most important, approval. The ethical issue arising emanates from the notion that human beings are born free with a free will, no effort should undermine that freedom. Therefore when an individual is used as a specimen without his/her approval, then the endeavor to always let people exercise their freedom is tampered with. Ethically, human beings should not be used as objects of research with the notion that the end justifies the means, rather human beings should at all time be viewed as the end itself. This ensures people are catered for their specific needs. In psychology, competence ensures clients are treated for the respective disorders and the diagnosis is for the right ailments. This saves time, resources and creates a healthy society whose needs are properly catered for. This in turn creates order and harmony in the so ciety eliminating chaos. In professional practice, competence is maintained in a number of ways. The most important is making sure the professionals are highly qualified in the specified field. Specialization is thus very central in maintaining competence. Qualification should be both in academic and experience gained. To ensure the right personnel are hired, it is important to hire workers on merit and weed out corruption. Competence is also maintained through formulating of the right policies in running an institution. Policies and rules guiding the personnel should be objective, clear, and implemental. Laws governing the practice and conduct of professionals are also in place and effective to ensure those who are not competent are suspended or at times charged. Rivera essays Detroit industry by Diego Rivera, is a contemporary masterpiece whose elements allow one to explore the beauty of art and its different components. Its unique representation of shape and form, space and color, harmony and balance, provide a great opportunity to observe what makes art universal. One of the ways, in which harmony is revealed in this mural, is through the quasi-symmetry, which is intentionally applied through the use of curves and angles. In the first panel, harmony is achieved through the use of color. The opposing forces of light and darkness seem to meet at the center with a flourish. While the right side of the panel can seem static, the left side of the panel implies movement through the use of harmony. In the second panel, the lines present almost always end in straight angles, while the curves seem to disappear behind these angles. It is harmonious because curves disappear and angles emerge. In the left and right sides of the second panel, the angular shapes are dominant, while the curves take over at the center of the panel. In this panel, light and darkness have shifted sides in comparison with the first panel, and once again they meet at the center; this time duplicating the flourish at the center with fire. In the first panel, the shapes are inorganic. While the left side seems structured, the right side appears to be chaotic. In the second panel, organic forms, such as the workers, contrast with the geometric shapes represented by tubes, piping, rails, and rigs. While the men, as organic shapes, are not symmetrical, they also represent curves and angles in harmony. In the first panel, the harmony of contrasting values is highlighted by the rich, dark, right side and the bright and warm left side. These values contrast, yet again, first panel vs. second panel, where the warm and bright colors appear on the opposing side (as a high value), and the dark, rich colors meet diagonally (... lottiegreen26http://www.blogger.com/profile/01922663594699977172noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8260033037448148430.post-57869281109508813532020-03-01T18:58:00.001-08:002020-03-01T18:58:02.735-08:00Top 3 Secrets to Getting Hired for Any JobTop 3 Secrets to Getting Hired for Any Job Finding it hard to stay ahead of the competition? Do you feel completely lacking in confidence when it comes to seeking out, applying for, and interviewing at prospective jobs? According to a LinkedIn expert who focuses on market shifts and analyzes how applicants can get ahead of the competition, there are three secrets you should keep in mind while job searching to increase your chances of getting hired for any job. 1. Focus not on who you know, but who your contacts knowThe number of people actively looking for work increased steadily over the past few years. But as of May 2016, 5.5 million jobs were still open. More employers are looking for top class talent and more workers are hoping to switch to better companies or fields. The way to use this to your advantage is to tap into your network. Companies prefer to hire candidates referred by a source they trust. Even if you donââ¬â¢t know someone at a company youââ¬â¢re applying to, figure out who you know that might know some one there. And remember: itââ¬â¢s often not your sister or best friend whoââ¬â¢ll land you your next job. It could be anyone: your babysitterââ¬â¢s aunt, your coworkerââ¬â¢s former neighbor, etc. First degree connections are great, but not the be all and end all. Think bigger than your immediate circle and branch out to use your whole network. Accept the third degree.2. Focus not on what your degree says, but what you actually knowYour major doesnââ¬â¢t matter that much. Besides, industries are changing so much and so rapidly these days that it is almost impossible to predict what the best field of study would be to land the work that will be most in demandââ¬âor how to meet the expanding demands of that industry. Focus on proving yourself to be a lifelong learner. Constantly accept opportunities to build new skills. Choose a field of study that gives you the broadest swatch of skill and knowledge. And then figure out how to put what you know into the proper contex t for any given job. Always think about how your particular group of skills could translate the position youââ¬â¢re applying for, and focus on communicating that.3. Focus on the power you do haveIt can feel powerless to be on the job market, but it doesnââ¬â¢t have to. Advances in technology and the gig economy mean that power is ever-shifting into the hands of job seekers. Be ready to wield it. Keep an eye on the market and be ready to pounce on new opportunities. It soon may be the case that companies come looking for you when youââ¬â¢re in the market for a challenging new opportunity. Until then, keep an open mind, and build your brand. lottiegreen26http://www.blogger.com/profile/01922663594699977172noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8260033037448148430.post-33762224517009070782020-02-14T10:24:00.001-08:002020-02-14T10:24:02.719-08:00Rebekah Nathan's My Freshman Year Essay Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 750 wordsRebekah Nathan's My Freshman Year - Essay Example Thus leaves the profoundest question that the book infers: 'Is it plausible for teachers and professors to influence the dominant student culture' The question then becomes, 'why would the professors of today want to influence student behavior and thinking' From Rebekah Nathan's research which steers clear of criticism, I see clearly three main reasons for wanting to affect change in the minds of students: one is the ignorance of world affairs and peoples; the other is the materialism that marks modern American priorities; and the third being the apparent lack of discipline and integrity in the more honorable precepts of what a higher school of learning is for in the first place. Some of the more profound research that Rebekah Nathan conducted was her interviews with minority students in revealing the lack of knowledge American students have of worldliness and in relating with other people outside of the dominant culture. Comments made by American freshman students such as, "Is Japan in China" or "Is it North Korea of South Korea that has a dictator" and even, "Where exactly is India" amazed international students (Nathan 84). In regards to friendships with people from other races, minorities were not so easily befriended by American students. A student from France noted, "Friendship is very surface-defined here. It is easy to get to know people, but the friendship is superficial. We wouldn't even call it a friendship. In France, when you're someone's friend, you're their friend for life" (Nathan 75). Many other examples from students around the world felt this way too. One student was befuddled that nobody ever even asked him about the country in which he c ame from. I believe that American students need to improve in their interest, acceptance, and knowledge of people from around the world and to understand that America is not the center of the world. Another deterrent from students developing more substantial relationships appears to be because of technology and America's strong views of independence and freedom. For example, many students communicate by computer, even when they are in close proximity to each other; television and computer gaming is a typical activity shared that does not provide much opportunity for interaction; and, because everyone wants to be independent and free, students are finding it harder to commit to group related activities and causes. Rebekah Nathan portrays college to be both a rite of passage but essentially a jumping off place for acquiring a future job. In Rebekah Nathan's surveys and questioners it was only a select few individuals who stated their purpose for going to a university was to learn. The main reasons involved: future jobs, relationships, social interaction and fun. This leads us to the question Rebekah Nathan asks in so many indirect ways, 'Why are students coming to universities in the first place' More students are attending college then ever before; a privilege once reserved for the elite is now made possible to all. More modern-day students need to work while in school in order to pay for college. Student's time is limited and the debts wait at the end of college life with the hopes of landing the perfect job to pay off those debts. The reason for attending a university I understood from Rebekah Nathan's notes lottiegreen26http://www.blogger.com/profile/01922663594699977172noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8260033037448148430.post-10617561145362152792020-02-01T19:32:00.001-08:002020-02-01T19:32:03.515-08:00Article summary Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1250 wordsSummary - Article Example Researchers are working on those questions and hypotheses because there are only few studies that have demonstrated broad transfer from training to performance on untrained cognitive abilities, training paradigms lacked pedagogical foundation and was difficult to apply in non-laboratory setting or long-term behavioral change, link between music and language is unspecified, and lack of sufficient testing to support the evidences (Moreno, et al., 1-2). In testing the hypotheses, various techniques were used such as: using short, intense series of training sessions measuring intelligence with two subtests from the Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligenceââ¬âThird Edition; measuring executive function using a go/no-go task that records behavioral performance and event-related potentials (ERPs); and review of previous studies showing increase in amplitude of P2 after music training (Moreno, et al., 2). Children aged 4-6 years old were test in the study. There are 71 childr en recruited but due to drop-out reasons, WPPSI-III data were available for 64 children, 32 (18 girls and 14 boys) who received visual-art training and 32 (20 girls and 12 boys) who received music training (Moreno, et al., 2). In addition, 16 participants were not included in the study because of uneasiness with the procedure and noise in the ERP signal. Therefore, the final sample size is 48 participants, with 24 participants in each training group. Moreno et al. found out that: there was no difference on visual-art training and music training on intelligence measures in the pretest session; significant improvement in intelligence scores marked by improvement only on verbal test were noted only on the music group after training; from pretest to posttest, more than 90% of the children in the music program improved their verbal score; music group outperformed the visual-art group at posttest; group performance has not been mainly affected but revealed significant effect of session on ly in the music group; N2/P3 complex groups have no significant differences but P2 component showed significant differences between groups; after training, the music group showed significantly larger peak amplitudes in the no-go trials whereas the visual-art group did not; and researchers found a significant positive correlation among music group only (4-5). Implications of the study are relevant to the education sector as evidence showed that WPPSI Verbal IQ is highly predictive of academic achievement plan and that there is a strong relationship between IQ evaluated at age 5 and in later life. In addition, computerized tutorials would make it easier for educational environments to implement training (Moreno, et al., 7). The study of Moreno et al. addressed neuroeducation and neurorehabilitation using computerized technologies. The symbolic material objects, as well as the strong symbolic characters, aid the readerââ¬â¢s understanding of the underlying theme. The material objects that Hemingway uses to convey the theme are beer, the good and bad hillsides, and a railroad station between two tracks. The beer represents the coupleââ¬â¢s, ââ¬Å"the Americanâ⬠and ââ¬Å"the girlââ¬â¢sâ⬠, usual routine activity they do together. This bothers the girl because ââ¬Å"thatââ¬â¢s all [they] do â⬠¦ look at things and try new drinks.â⬠This shows that the girl is tired of doing the same thing and wants to do something different, like having a baby and a family, instead of fooling around all the time. She wants to stop being a girl and become a woman. Hemingway then presents the reader with two contrasting hills. One hill on one side of the station is dull, desolate, and barren; ââ¬Å"it had no shade and no treesâ⬠, very desert like. However, the other hill on the other side of the station is beautiful, plentiful in nature, and had ââ¬Å"fields of grain and tress along the banks of the Ebro River.â⬠Also on each side of the station where each hill is, there is a train track. What was once a single public website created by a college dropout has become an empire of trafficking communities, used by hundreds of millions of people, that robs billions in revenue each year. Although these rogue websites claim to strictly serve only as hosts for illegal file sharing, the United States government must take action to eliminate Internet piracy and protect copyright by implementing digital encryption technologies and strict laws that prohibit tampering these encryptions. The trafficking of copyrighted goods must be put to an end because it promotes illegal transactions of an owner's intellectual property, causing sales in the entertainment and software industries to plummet and thereby restricts the growth of the economy. Internet piracy is the unlawful reproduction and/or distribution of any copyrighted digital file without the consent of the owner. It is driven by the consumers demand for a desirable product that would otherwise be unobtainable, either because of financial limitations or cultural factors, such as the Chinese culture's emphasis that the free sharing of knowledge creates and preserves both civilization and traditional values across generations (Lu 310). Consequently, such a mindset that has caused many people to believe piracy to be the solution to their individual economic problems has resulted in the slow, yet unrelenting destruction of the economy. Spearheaded by several websites hosting millions of users every day, illegal file sharing services have robbed entertainment and software companies of billions of dollars each year and have direct correlations to the current economic depression. The era of internet piracy began in May of 1999 when a college student founded an internet website called Napster that allowed users to upload and download music for free through connected computer networks (Internet Piracy). In the first four months of its initial release, Napster hosted roughly 1 million users (Bach 4). After one year, however, the service became so popular that the Napster community expanded to an unprecedented 20 million users. Though it was eventually charged for copyright infringement and lost a series of legal battles, Napster had already introduced the world to internet piracy. For the first time ever, Napster, in just two years, caused the music industry, specifically in compact disc sales, to steadily lose roughly $500 million in revenue in each preceding year (Bach 5). The damage that these rogue websites have done to the entertainment industry by promoting and hosting file sharing services has been catastrophic. In the fifth annual global piracy study by the Business Software Alliance, BSA discovered that in 2007, ââ¬Å"Worldwide, for every two dollars' worth of software purchased legally, one dollars' worth was obtained illegally. BSA) â⬠Not only is internet piracy hurting the economy by dramatically lowering sales in the worldwide market, it is also making it increasingly difficult for artists, developers and their companies to produce new content to stimulate economic growth because of the daunting fact that their product will more likely be copied and redistributed rather than acquired legally through purchase. In the United States music industry, for example, the NPD group reported that only 37% of music acquired by consumers in 2009 was paid for (RIAA). If there is no payout, producers have less incentive to quickly develop new content. Likewise, without the revolving door of investment and revenue, the ability to bring the next generation of talent, such as artists and inventors, to the marketplace is diminished- as is the incentive for the aspiring talent to pursue a full time career in his or her desired industry (Gee 20). Furthermore, a decreasing amount of new products entering the market, coupled with the increasingly scarce number of new talents willing to enter the slumping entertainment industry and the continuously growing pirating community will only add fuel to the pre-existing fire that is the recession. Previously passed bills Protect IP Act and the Digital Millennium Copyright Act have done little in the war against Internet piracy as a majority of the pirating sites have turned to Bit Torrent technology as the method of choice to avoid drawing blame for directly handling intellectual property during illegal transactions. This advanced protocol maximizes transfer speed by gathering pieces of the file you want and downloading these pieces simultaneously from the computers of those who have downloaded from the same source- referred to as ââ¬Å"seeders (Carmack 1, 3). As of 2009, Bit Torrent file sharing has accounted for approximately 43% to 70% of Internet trafficking, making it one of the biggest contributors to the declining entertainment and software industry (Schulze). Although it would be impossible to shut down every rogue website that provides file sharing services, it is possible to prevent consumers from uploading purchased products onto these sites by implementing digital encryption keys that are unique to each product, in which content is distributed not as raw data, but rather inside a secure container (Bach 7). Dubbed ââ¬Å"Digital Rights Management (DRM), â⬠these technologies have already been implemented in America's motion picture industry and have greatly limited the number of pirated DVD's. Moreover, digital encryption keys may be able to help stimulate the economy. Consider the notion that a good must be scarce, exclusive and rivalrous in order to draw consumer demand. Now, take into account that illegally copying and redistributing a good on the internet has zero marginal cost. The majority of people would rather commit to the latter instead of paying for said good, therefore eliminating rivalry, scarcity and exclusiveness in the market. If, however, encryption keys were to be equipped to each product, DRM would re-establish excludability and thus an artificial notion of rivalry and scarcity because each product would require a unique key code acquired upon purchasing the good (Bach 9). Companies would have more control over the distribution of its property while consumers can still keep their legally purchased product. What is more, the addition of laws prohibiting the tampering of these keys as well as severe punishment and fines would act as a strong deterrence to piracy. Unless the United States government adopts the ideas of implementing digital encryption technologies and passing strict laws that severely punish those who tamper with these electronic locks, the cycle of economic depression and inflation of products in the market will continue forever. Some may argue that these ideas to reinforce copyright will tip the balance of power away from consumers to the producers and also infringe upon the rights of an individual's freedom of expression, the right to privacy, and the right to communicate (Lu 299). Yet, implementing key codes and laws to protect them (key codes) in no way limit a person's right to speech, privacy, nor expression. For instance, a boy named Bob purchases a digital version of the hit song ââ¬Å"Gangnam Styleâ⬠and really enjoys the instrumental as well as lyrics. Though he cannot upload his copy of ââ¬Å"Gangnam Styleâ⬠â⬠to the Internet and share it with others, he may still express his feelings about the song and tell others why he likes it. Bob is not restricted to enjoying the song by himself. In fact, he can post links of his new favorite song to his Twitter, Facebook, or any website; he just cannot distribute HIS copy in any way to anyone else. Though suggested method of protecting copyright may seem like it infringes about human rights, it does not. It merely serves, literally, as a protective cage surrounding your digital content. lottiegreen26http://www.blogger.com/profile/01922663594699977172noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8260033037448148430.post-41533637100067613342020-01-08T08:43:00.001-08:002020-01-08T08:43:03.682-08:00Human Development and The Psychoanalytic Perspective of... The psychoanalytic perspective of personality sheds light on human development in terms of drives and inner motives, which are of the unconscious mind and sexual instincts as well as stem from childhood experiences of which can be revealed through dreams, free association, and slips of the tongue; nonetheless, if there conflict between motives it will indeed construct defense mechanisms (of which range from denial, displacement, projection, reaction formation, regression, repression, sublimation, and rationalization)and anxiety. Psychoanalytic theory however, as a consequence, is in that is restricted by its prominence on the innate id, on the whole. The lifespan perspective of personality focuses on cultural and social influences and was represented by eight developmental stages, each depicted by a specific developmental crises/challenge that all individual are thought to confront; linked to the persons relationship their environment. First of all, based on both poems, the attitude of the poets is influenced by the diction of the poems as well as tone and mood. In Emily Dickinsonââ¬â¢s poem, in line 1, 2 Because I couldnââ¬â¢t stop for death ââ¬âHe kindly stopped for me the word ââ¬Å"deathâ⬠delivers a positive mood as the speaker seems respect and awe death. Moreover, death is portrayed as a phenomenon that is beyond ââ¬Å½humanââ¬â¢s control. Death has its own control; it is something that human cannot decide themselves but only death can do stop for human, invite them into its carriage, not vice versa. In ââ¬Å½addition, the word ââ¬Å"kindlyâ⬠in the line presents calmness to the readers as death is not something that human should scare off. Besides, the word slowly and the phrase no haste inâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦However, in contrast to Emilyââ¬â¢s poem, the speaker undervalues deathââ¬â¢s supremacy as its power is actually not in its own control. It is a contradictory to Emilyââ¬â¢s poem. In line 9 Thouââ¬â¢art slave to fate, chance, kings, and desperate men indicates death as a slave as it does what has been ordered from the superior ones. Death takes humanââ¬â¢s life not because he is willing to do so but because he is forced to do so. In line 10-11, ââ¬Å"And dost with poison, war and sicknessâ⬠¦ can make us sleep as wellâ⬠the speaker associates death with poison, war and sickness as death is not the only factor of humanââ¬â¢s deceases which then the speaker posts rhetorical question for death to stop being proud. Also, the usage of rhetorical questions like in line 2 ââ¬Å"For thou art not soâ⬠makes death fragile. Further, the last line in this poem ââ¬Å"And death shall be no more; Death, thou shalt dieâ⬠points out that at the end, the only one who dies is death itself which will be discussed in the element of Christian theology in this essay. The ending also eventually argues that death is weak and vulnerable, not in control and that is the reason why human should not fear death. All the arguments made by the speaker in this poe m creates death less powerful and less control of itself which illustrates a condescending tone to elucidate deathââ¬â¢s incapability to kill. Hence, both poets; Emily Dickinson and John Donne portray death as a phenomenon that human should not fear. The purpose of the manipulation was so that Prospero could act as the author of his own life; he wanted to pursue his vengeance against the betrayal done to him by Alonso, his brother, and other characters in the play. He is creating his own story with the help of Ariel (a magical spirit) as an extended effort of manipulation in order to appear the victim. Prospero wanted Alonso to feel grief and pain, but Gonzalo being such a loyal subject felt the same loss as his king. The remaining members of the group, Sebastian and Antonio, took adv antage of their king feeling depressed and tried to obtain even more power for themselves by plotting to kill Alonso and Gonzalo. To find information on hundreds of millions of Web pages, a search engine used special software robots called spiders to build lists of the words found on websites. When the list is being built by spiders, itââ¬â¢s called Web crawling. We will write a custom essay sample on Web Architecture In Website Commun or any similar topic only for you Order Now To build and maintain a useful list of words, a search engineââ¬â¢s spiders have to go through a lot of sites. The process is quite simple. When a sequence of words is typed into a search engine such as ââ¬ËSuffolk Oneââ¬â¢, the spider looks at a HTML page and takes note of two things; The words within the page, and where the words are found. Words in the title, subtitle, meta tags and other positions are noted for special consideration during a search by a user. Most spiders are built to ignore significant words on pages such as ââ¬Ëaââ¬â¢. ââ¬Ëanââ¬â¢ and theââ¬â¢. When the spider has built up an index of different pages, it builds a list of words and notes where they were found. It then builds an index of these websites by creating a system of weighting. The more times a series of words is mentioned on the website, such as ââ¬ËBBCââ¬â¢, the website will be higher. If a website is linked from the BBC, which will also feature higher in the search than if it was linked to a less known website. After the spider has created an index it encodes the data to a save space and stores data for users to access. Metadata A metadata is a special HTML tag which provides information about a Weeping. Metadata donââ¬â¢t affect how the page looks, unlike normal HTML tags. Instead, they provide information such as who created the page, how often itââ¬â¢s updated, what the age is about, and which keywords represent the pageââ¬â¢s content. Boolean Boolean is a data type which has two values, usually true and false. With search engines, Boolean is used to get better search results. If ââ¬ËANDââ¬â¢ is in the search, it will find all the words either side of the and, for example ââ¬Ësuit and tiesââ¬â¢, and give results of both if both terms are on the site.. If ââ¬ËORââ¬â¢ is in the search it will search for one of the other, for example ââ¬Ësuit or tiesââ¬â¢. There will be results for both, but they will give sites which has one or the other words on there. If ââ¬ËNOT is in the search, it will search for one term, and make sure the other word isnââ¬â¢t in the page. For example ââ¬ËSuits not menââ¬â¢sââ¬â¢. This will show suits for women, and any sites with menââ¬â¢s suits on will not show. E-commerce Buying, Selling and Marketing Customers can use e-commerce (online shopping) to buy and sell products online. The most used e-commerce site for buying is Amazon. Amazon attracts customers by having TV adverts. Most of their adverts are for their Kindle e-reader. They also attract customers by having low costs on high street products such as CDC, DVDââ¬â¢s, and games. Amazon use email to attract customers. They send emails to customers showing whatââ¬â¢s new, and whatââ¬â¢s been a weekly best seller. They also use this email to give customers special recommendations based on what they have bought or looked at on the site. Other e-commerce sites such as eBay and play. Mom also attract customers in similar ways; by having adverts, emails, and recommendations on their site. 24/7/365 E-commerce sites run 24 hours a day, 7 days a week, 365 days a year. They never go offline. This is good for e-commerce sites because people can order whenever, and wherever they like. This also meaner people who work hours during the day so cannot get into their local store before it closes will also be abl e to buy from that store Electronic Payments Customers can pay for their products online through the Internet with no hassle. Most websites also remember credit card information, so the next time a customer shops using that site they wonââ¬â¢t have to type their details in again. Fewer Overheads/ Costs E-commerce sites have cheaper costs than normal high street shops because they donââ¬â¢t have to pay for as much rent for shops, and staffing costs will be low. They also donââ¬â¢t have to pay for delivery to the shops around the country/world. Customer Benefits Customers get a lot of benefits from shopping online. Most of the products are cheaper to buy which will save customers money. They also get delivery straight to their door, which is good for people who live in remote areas, who are elderly, or people who are disabled. Killing off High Street Shops E-commerce sites are killing off high street shops. Stores like HEM and Jeepers have closed because itââ¬â¢s easier and cheaper for people to buy online. Customers want to mind the best price, and if they can find it cheaper online, which is also convenient because they can order it from home, they will order it online. Privacy Issues Some customers want to know how their information is being used, and what data e- commerce sites have on them. E-commerce sites may know more about them than the customer knows, like what size underwear they have ordered, or what types of films they like. Customer Service When customers buy online, they wonââ¬â¢t get the customer service they get if they went to a high street store. Some customers like the service they get because they can ask questions about a certain product, or get product recommendations. Security Customers may be afraid to shop online because of security issues. They may not want to type in their credit card details because of hackers, or pushing on the site. To reassure customers, HTTPS will need to be used which will encrypt the data sent and prevent unwanted guests seeing the information. E-commerce at Work Information goes from the client PC through the ISP to the merchantââ¬â¢s web server. It then goes to the merchantââ¬â¢s database server to see if it is in stock. If the item isnââ¬â¢t in tock is shows similar items, and other items customers bought. If it is in stock, it goes to the payment gateway where money is taken from the clientââ¬â¢s bank to the merchantââ¬â¢s bank. Once the payment process is complete, the order goes to the warehouse, to the delivery service, and finally delivered to the clientââ¬â¢s house. Web 2. 0 CHIC ââ¬â User Generated Content User generated content meaner no HTML needs to be typed in. The coding is set for the site, and when a user changes something like a picture or updated their status, the code changes without the user seeing it. The user is in control, and needs no HTML expertise because the creator of the site has already done important coding to get the site up and working for users to change different settings. Social Networking Social networking sites such as Twitter and Faceable use Web 2. 0. On Faceable, Web 2. 0 allows users to change their status, change their profile picture, and change their cover photo. Twitter also allows users to send tweets, change their profile picture, change their header, and update their bio. Users can also change their background on their profile, as shown in the picture below. Blobbing Anyone can become a flogger and create a blob, which is usually public but can be private. There are tools are provided for readers to comment and contribute. Blob entries have the same format throughout, and usually have somewhere for users to comment. HTML code has already put in for this to automatically show on each blob entry. Wise (Wisped) Wise is a place where all users can contribut e to information. The biggest example is Wisped which is an encyclopedia website where anyone can contribute to an article, or create a new one. On Wisped, the same layout follows throughout, and o all users need to do is type the information in normal text, and the website will add it in the format of all the other pages. Online Applications (Cloud Computing) Instead of buying applications and installing it onto a computer, online applications allow users to use programs on the internet. This meaner theyââ¬â¢re accessible from any computer with an Internet connection. The online applications have the same layout as any software on a computer, but because itââ¬â¢s online itââ¬â¢s run using HTML. Users do not need to understand HTML to use the website because it used Web 2. 0. Answer: Vending machine in Mumbai Introduction The type of bottles is given under specifications because they must have an authentic bar code from them. The feature is supposed to enhance the bottles to be accepted in the firm for recycling purposes. In order to facilitate the boosting the PM Moodis Swachh Bharat initiative scheme, Indian Railways has established and build a Recycle machine that is performing the work of recycling at the place called church gate railway station in Mumbai. The machine has the capacity to crush an amount of 500 bottles in a day with the help one equipment. The people or the individuals will get a form of compensation by delivering their effort for recycling and submitting the waste product to the company. This aspect is necessary hence a reward when the activity of recycling is being undertaken to encourage persistent and the repeated aspect of the use. The machine performs in such a way that there are options provided on the screen once attains keyed in hence there are three options on the screen that is established will be shown. The mobile recharge is the first option that will be used and the donation the second shown on top of the screen. The machine provider has tied up several aspects for discounts purposes which will enable further work to be undertaken. Project Background The outsourcing technique is utilized in this aspect where the provision of machine is from Wockhardt a third party and expert in matters pertaining to the machine installation. The project cost is estimated to be 7Lakh which still works and is in relationship with a number of various corporates to enable tie up for the rewards. The bottles that have been subjected to recycling will then be supplied to the companies that entirely deal with the fiber. This is done in order to be put into different uses such as in clothes industry and the carpets as well as grocery bags. The future of India is made to be bright by recycling the materials hence the sustainability in the future of the people of India is enhanced. The application of time management in reverse vending machine The reverse vending machine is currently installed in Mumbai railway stations and in many other places which are considered detrimental. This is supposed to take care of the plastic bottles and thus gives the certain amount of money to the people who preserve the environment and keep the plastic bottles. According to the research that has been conducted the board has made it clear that the platforms that are going to benefit from this investment. The aspect discussed is important and thus it is near the source of water and have RO water supply. The parts that are exempted from the benefit of installing this important plant in the starting phase will adopt WVMs. The officers have been mandated to concentrate and give their attention to the platforms that lack taps. The challenge of water is being addressed accordingly by stipulating of the new measures to incorporate taps in the joints. The project has is no flow of water as the vending machine works properly in the presence of water for the purpose of recycling.(Peterson, 2015) said there is supply of pure drinking water in the area that the pipeline has been laid hence the Howrah division is responsible in ensuring that is taking place in accordance to the project initiative. Project analysis The analysis of strengths, weaknesses opportunities and technological aspects The cost of buying new products will be reduced due to the recycling plant that is established in the railway station. The activities and the operations in the railway station will be run a coherent manner and thus facilitate more revenue. (David, 2014) said the customer services will improve due to cleanliness levels that will improve as result of elimination of the waste products. The sanctions and waste products are collected by the individuals and then taken to the recycling join in the vending machine. The accessibility of water at affordable cost is another key benefit that will be derived from the implementation of the plan. The project manager will have a right and sense of pride from the minister of health and sanitation and this may build a cohesive environment among the government officials in India. This will help to establish new vending machines in India at Railway stations. The weakness is that a lot of cost will be incurred to initiate the project and to completion which will take a lot of human resource. The congestion will be experienced as a result of the capacity constraint in the railway station due to the improvement in standards. The normal operations will be haltered delivering slow of working and change in time schedule. The opportunities that are considered to emancipate are the jobs to the people of Mumbai who will secure employment to work and operate the vending machine. (Felix, 2012) said the vending machine will create jobs for the people of India The youth who have been jobless for a long period of time and thus ascertain the flow of income and the better life and improvement of standards of living. Technology will be utilized by use of LED lights and the screens that are a product of the plant that have been set and use the bottle that are of plastic in nature. The red lights will also be usable in the placement of lighting in the railway station to provide light and security in a 24 hrs system of services due to increase in the economies of scale. Project Scope The effect of burning the containers is witnessed globally by the adverse weather conditions that re-experienced all over the world. The global warming is crucial hence it is very detrimental to the environment as it is displayed in many parts of the country. The research conducted by Harvey in Australia shows that 60% of marine and aquatic lives are killed by the plastic waste products which contains harmful chemical substances. The products are thus in a position which are not easily disposable or even soluble in water. There is less energy used in the PET bottles and the recycled materials also makes use of the 84% less energy rather than engaging in the production from the raw materials. Capital punishment is the maximum penalty of a conviction. More than 4, 400 people have been executed since 1930. There is no way of knowing how many people have been executed in U.S. history because they used to be local affairs with nobody to record them. On the edge of the 21st century, Capital punishment is still one of the two most debated issues in the U.S., the other is abortion. This paper will attempt to show the effects of capital punishment and how it is used. Capital punishment has been a very attention grabbing incident over the years. For example, in 1936, about 20,000 people gathered in Owensboro, Kentucky, on the morning of August 14 to see the hanging of a 22 year old black man, Rainey Bethea. Many people have also died wrongfully. Sacco and Vangetti were two Italian immigrants that were accused of payroll robbery. Although they had alibis of there whereabouts, they were still convicted of the crime and sentenced to death by the electric chair. Nearly every culture throughout history has practiced capital punishment. Quartering was a popular method in Europe. Quartering is being torn apart by horses. In India, executions were sometimes carried out by having an elephant crush the condemneds head. In modern times, societies have sought to make executions more humane. Such was the goal of the guillotine, which severed the condemneds head with a heavy blade, and the electric chair which kills with a massive dose of electrical current. The Constitution of the United States guarantees to every citizen certain fundamental rights. The First Amendment, for example guarantees freedom of religion, speech, press, assembly, and petition. The Second Amendment promises that the right of the people to keep and bear arms shall not be infringed. The amendment most relevant to the issue of the death penalty is the Eighth Amendment. It reads: Excessive bail shall not be required, nor excessive fines imposed, nor cruel and unusual punishment inflicted. However simple and straightforward these words may sound, its not always clear what they mean. That is because the words cruel and unusual are subjective. One person may think, for instance, that capital punishment is cruel and unusual, while another person may not. In 1972, the Supreme Court declared the death penalty cruel and unusual, and therefore unconstitutional. It was soon reactivated in 1976 by 35 states. People have tried to influence decisions on the death penalty. For example, the Pope has played a role in the decision of the death penalty. The Pope pleaded for a criminals life and the criminal was sentenced to life in jail instead of the electric chair. Many people that are innocent have been sentenced to death. Harry Blackman, a death penalty opponent, stated Innocent persons have been executed and will continue to be executed, explaining why he could no longer support the death penalty. Isidore Zimmerman, came within 2 hours of execution for a murder he did not commit. Citing instances like this, death penalty opponents claim that the danger of a terrible and irrevocable mistake capital punishment intolerable. Cost often comes up when the death penalty is mentioned. Those in favor of the death penalty say the government shouldnt waste its money on guarding, feeding, and housing a depraved criminal for the rest of his or her life. The truth is, however, that it costs much more to put a prisoner to death than to keep a prisoner in jail. It cost about 2 million to 3 million dollars to sentence someone to death and keep them on death row for 8 years. The same it costs to keep 3 prisoners in a maximum security prison for 40 years. Opponents use this as a contradiction. Race is a big issue in death sentencing although not admitted. There is still a lot of hard decision making when it comes to ethnics being punished. A comprehensive examination of capital murder cases in Georgia, a black convicted of murdering a white has a 22 percent chance of being sentenced to die, whereas a white convicted of murdering a black has only a 3 percent chance. This has been a big thing in the civil issues lottiegreen26http://www.blogger.com/profile/01922663594699977172noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8260033037448148430.post-39250652084282387702019-11-25T13:09:00.001-08:002019-11-25T13:09:04.201-08:00Comparison between Walter Mitty and Holden Caulfield essaysComparison between Walter Mitty and Holden Caulfield essays Comparison between Walter Mitty and Holden Caulfield Inability to live a successful and fulfilling external life The short story The secret life of Walter Mitty by James Thurber, and the novel The Catcher in the Rye by the author J.D Salinger, are two works of literature of the twentieth century which have been analyzed and criticised broadly. Walter Mitty and Holden Caulfield are the main characters of each of these narrations. Both authors refer to the themes of loneliness, escaping reality, meaning of life, and lack of maturity amongst others. These themes are reflected in the protagonists, and similarities between Mitty and Holden Caulfields personality make these two characters recognizable in literature. Both are engrossed in failure, failure to productive society Walter Mitty is a middle-aged man who escapes from his unhappy and mediocre life into a world of fantasies where he is an outstanding and successful man, where he is respected and does not depend on anyone. This contrasts to his real life, where he is dominated by his wife, Mrs. Mitty, and he is just an ordinary weak man, who is constantly humiliated whenever he interacts with normal people. His fantasies and his real world have almost turned into an indivisible one. His illusions make his life tolerable, fulfilling him at least for a concise time. In the Catcher in the Rye, Holden Caulfield is a sixteen year old boy who has been sent to a mental institution after having a mental breakdown. He is an immature adolescent who is scared of becoming an adult, because he sees adults as phoney, hypocrites and obscene. All this has lead him into depression, because he keeps fighting responsibilities, thinking that that way he can achieve not turning into horrible grown ups image he has. Youngsters, in the progress of their active life, learn to engage in activities mainly on the basis of information collected from mass media entertainment such as TV, music, movies, mobile and internet of course to the greatest extend these days (Nachbar 1992, p. 414). Engagement in popular culture should be productive, I mean, by way of learning the ethical values of great works done by people in literature, art and architecture. Students need to attend sessions of cultural activities and perform their role thereby. They should realize that culture is a source of ethical values apart from mere entertainment. Learning about modern popular culture encourages people to form a positive attitude towards their community. Movies, stage-shows or any other form of public entertainment should focus on building this attitude among people. Modern popular culture however, imprints the enthusiasm of more indigenous cultures involving tattoos, fashion design, animated photography etc in returning to the primitive style as a fashion. As the globe has been totally trodden by man, the need for cultural globalization has already evolved. People presently have the attitude to respect and follow the indigenous culture as a connection with modern popular culture. Also, with the development of sports and folklore programs across the world, the engagement of popular art in the social life has been reinforced. Therefore, in the light of due consideration of values and standards of popular culture these days, I donââ¬â¢t consider a change in my attitude towards them unless it goes all against social ethics; e ven on such conditions, there are legislative measures to regulate such possible lottiegreen26http://www.blogger.com/profile/01922663594699977172noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-8260033037448148430.post-5104463151262225712019-11-20T17:08:00.001-08:002019-11-20T17:08:03.851-08:00Argument essay structure Example | Topics and Well Written Essays - 1000 wordsArgument structure - Essay Example It therefore important for an organization to have an efficient and effective leader in order to direct and bind all these diverse employees in order for the organizationââ¬â¢s targets to be achieved. Generally, overtime, many people have had different viewpoints on the concept of leadership. For instance, Daft views leadership as a vital organizational component which involves influence on people, and ââ¬Å"occurs among people who intentionally desire significant changesâ⬠(2008). Similarly, Yukl views leadership as a process used by managers to influence employees to get an understanding of what ought to be done and how it should be done in order to achieve organizational targets (2006, p. 8). As such, the concept of management and leadership does not merely entail setting up plans and following the set procedures, but it instead requires the managers to effectively direct the diverse set of employees towards achieving the organizational objectives. However, it is worth noting that unlike the ââ¬Å"Great Manââ¬â¢s Theoryâ⬠which suggests that leadership is inborn rather than natured, Daftââ¬â¢s and Yuklââ¬â¢s viewpoint implies that leadership is a process t hat requires teamwork, influence and practice in order to achieve organizational goals. Equally important, with increased competition as well as numerous emerging new markets, todayââ¬â¢s organizations have become more complex. This has hence led to a high inter-organizational and intra-organizational competition, a factor that has brought up an urgent need for effective and efficient leadership in organizations. Primarily, leadership competency encompasses the various practices, functions and responsibilities which the management are required to take. Thus, the competencies points out the various functional skills that leaders must develop in order to be able to take up responsibility effectively. To be more specific, the paper speaks mainly of AllScripts software, the information management system used by the Residential Clinical Services. It addresses some of its features, weaknesses along with its strengths and security level. The Residential Clinical Services situated in Merrillville, in northwestern Indiana was established in 1987. This home care facility was established to provide commitment to excellence in patient care. The Residential Clinical Services main mission is to help patients and their families make the transition from hospital to home as smooth as possible. The facility is administered by Aileen M. Ellicott NP and has a total of 23 employees working there. It also serves a wide populous in the Indiana state, inclusive of; Northwest Indiana to include Lake, Porter, LaPorte, Starke, Newton and Jasper counties. The agency offers skilled nursing, physical therapy, occupational therapy, speech therapy, and medical social services for financial or psychosocial counseling and identification of appropriate community resources. Home health aides are also available for those patients who are unable to manage their own personal hygiene, prescribe exercises and meal preparation. Additionally, their services include a comprehensive Oncology program with nurses highly competent in the total care and instruction of the patients with cancer. Programs such as Pain Management, Education, Supportive Care, Infusion Therapy, Chemotherapy, Antibiotics, Hydration and Nutritional Support are available for those patients in need. They also have a policy with local hospitals that enable the administration of blood and blood products to those patients already at home whose alternative would be an admission to the hospital or ambulance transport to an out-patient setting for an 8-10 hour stay. Viscount Palmerston was, without doubt, one of the most famous foreign secretaries ever to have held the office- and he did so on two occasions- between 1830-41, and 1846-52. As with many famous figures he is also rather a controversial one, receiving a mixture of praise and criticism from historians. Anthony Wood generally sees him as a dextrous negotiator, who threatened to use force in a judicious and responsible manner[1]. Eric Evans, on the other hand, is more inclined to see Palmerstonââ¬â¢s obvious sabre rattling and ââ¬ËGun Boat diplomacyââ¬â¢ as an irresponsible and unprincipled pursuit of the National interest[2] that aggravated diplomatic wounds (especially with the French) ââ¬â and left Lord Aberdeen (when he took over in 1841) to ââ¬Ëpick up the piecesââ¬â¢[3]. The function of this essay will be to evaluate Palmertonââ¬â¢s achievements in the first (and perhaps more influential) period under the premierships of Earl Grey and Lord Melborne in light o f this historiographical debate. This essay will adopt a chronological structure to facilitate the clarity of discussion. It will cover the three most famous events in British Foreign affairs in this period- the Belgium Crisis of 1830-1, the creation of the Quadruple Alliance in 1834, the finally the Egyptian Crises concerning France and Russia from 1831-41. It will then assess if, on balance, Palemerstonââ¬â¢s first period at the Foreign Office can generally be called a success, as argued by Wood, or in fact did more harm than good- as argued by Evans. Palmerstonââ¬â¢s general attitude to foreign affairs was famously one of the pursuit of national self-interest above the maintenance of any kind of consistent, or ââ¬Ëethicalââ¬â¢ position. He told the House of Commons: ââ¬Å"We have no eternal allies, we have no perpetual enemies. Our interests are eternal and perpetual, and those interests it is our duty to followâ⬠For Evans, this was attitude represented a carte blance form of pragmatism. Palmerston was able to wrap himself in the union jack- often mobilising British public opinion behind him- and effectively conduct himself as he pleased with little regard for the sovereignty or stability of other nations- and most importantly- without any regard for long term-worsening of diplomatic relations. This approach was first demonstrated in respect of the Crisis in Belgium in 1830-1. In the Congress of Vienna in 1815, Belgium had been placed under the United Provinces of the Dutch- ignoring the obvious differences in religion and national feeling[4]. Eventually, Belgium Patriots were able to gather enough support to drive out the Dutch garrison from Brussels. King Louis Phillipe, who had come to power in France in 1830, was known to favour a satellite Belgium state under a French protectorate- although it was unknown as the extent the French were prepared to use military force to get it. At a London conference in 1831, Palmerston found himself in a difficult position- but refused to hand over two fortresses on the Belgium border to the French- thus ensuring the creation of a neutral Belgium. Some months later, after the French posted troops inside Belgium, Palmerston let it be known that he would be prepared to use force against them if they did not withdraw[5]. The French could n ot take this risk, and retreated. A treaty was signed in December 1832, establishing an international guarantee of Belgiumââ¬â¢s neutrality. On the face of it, this seemed like a triumph for Palmeston. It could be argued that he had played the game of diplomatic bluff to perfection, and by refusing to assent to French demands and sabre rattling, had achieved a settlement most inkeeping with his goal of maintaining British national interest- and one which ensured a potentially dangerous French power-base did not grow any more menacing. However, there was no doubt that ââ¬ËLord Pumicestoneââ¬â¢sââ¬â¢ abrasive qualities had soured Anglo-French relations and perhaps a more delicate and consensual stance might have yielded a more satisfactory outcome to all sides The diplomatic problems with France did not go away. In 1834, the Queens of Spain and Portugal (who were constitutional rulers) were threatened by absolutist regimes in their own countries- and Palmerston was suspicious that the French planned to take advantage. His idea to create a ââ¬ËQuadruple Allianceââ¬â¢ between all four countries seemed, on the face of it, another great success. France could not diplomatically refuse an alliance already agreed to by Britain, Spain, and Portugal[6], and was seemingly once again outmanoeuvred by what Palmerston called a ââ¬ËCapital Hit all of my own doingââ¬â¢ (He was not known for his modesty). Palmerston had always been unequivocal in his support for Constitutional rulers, and Britainââ¬â¢s self-interest was arguably sustained by the maintenance of moderate regimes in the Iberian Peninsula[7]. On this occasion, he had arguably used diplomatic guile rather than the implied threat of military force to achieve success- so it can pe rhaps be said that Palmerston was occasionally prepared to dock his gunboat for a spot of peaceful diplomacy. Once again, though, the price of safeguarding British Interests had worsened Anglo-French relations. In 1831, Mehemet Ali, a rebellious vassal of the Turkish Sultan Mahmud in Egypt, declared war and took possession of Palestine and Syria from the Turkish Empire. The Russians- in offering to help forced the beleaguered Sultan to sign a rough treaty which effectively passed control of the strategically vital Unkiar Skelessi Straits to them. Palmerston was worried about an escalation of Russian influence- as it heightened his fear of a potential alliance between Russia and France. In 1839, the Sultan made an ill-advised attack on Ali, and ended up suffering an ignominious defeat, and gave the vassal his excuse to carry the war deep into Turkish territory. It was Palmerstonââ¬â¢s policy to support Turkey, mainly because it dispersed the power base of Europe, and also because of a recently signed commercial treaty between the two nations. The Turkish town of Aden (which had the added benefit of being a useful place for British steamships to replenish their coal stocks en route to Ind ia) was placed under a British protectorate. Rather predictably, the French sided with Mehemet Ali. Palmerston offered a deal to his enemies- that Ali could retain Egypt and Syria for his lifetime, but the French encouraged him to turn it down. Palmerston refused to climb down, and instructed Lord Granville (the British Ambassador in Paris) to: ââ¬Å"Covey to him (King Louis Phillipe) in the most friendly and unoffensive manner possibleâ⬠¦that if France begins a war, she will lose her ships, colonies and commerce before she sees the end of it; that her army of Algiers will cease to give her anxiety, and that Mehemet Ali will be chucked into the Nileâ⬠[8] This uncompromising stance once again was a gamble, made more intense when British Marines helped capture the cities of Acre and Beirut after Ali rejected Palmerstonââ¬â¢s deal. France (also worried by threatening movements in Bavaria) was in no position to engage Britain in a war, and she ended up having to aid Britain and Russia to defeat Ali[9]. Eventually, Russia was even persuaded to relinquish control of the Straits, and all four powers agreed to return to the original settlement of 1809[10]. Disaster had seemingly been diverted again by Palmerstonââ¬â¢s tough diplomatic line. For Wood, he had read Franceââ¬â¢s hand perfectly[11], and once again maintained peace, even if (for Evans) he had put several noses out of joint with more ââ¬ËGun Boat Diplomacyââ¬â¢[12]. In Conclusion, this essay has shown that Palmerstonââ¬â¢s abrasive approach to Foreign policy was generally a great success. In each of the three instances covered, his reluctance to compromise worked in Britainââ¬â¢s interests, and against those of France- her eternal foe. Undoubtedly, he did prioritise the national interest above all else, but it could be argued that- such was Britainââ¬â¢s dominance- that her interests and the goal of stability and peace in Europe were by no means unrelated. In fact, one could argue from this evidence that they were very closely linked, and that maybe Palmerstonââ¬â¢s reputation as irresponsible is slightly unfounded. It can be said that Palmerstonââ¬â¢s hands-on and confrontational approach was extremely risky, and that there was a large element of luck involved in achieving a successful outcome on each occasion. For example, had France not withdrawn from Belgium in 1831, a bloody war might have ensured. In 1839, it may only have been the sudden advent of threatening activity in Prussia that made the French swallow their pride, and abandon Mehemet Ali. Palmerston was also aided by his fleet of gunboats that backed up everything he said. Britainââ¬â¢s naval dominance at that time allowed him to adopt a far more hard-line and interventionist approach than many other Foreign Secretaries before or since. Overall, Palmerstonââ¬â¢s guile- backed up by his luck and his powerbase made his period at the Foreign Office between 1830-41 extremely successful, but arguably it could have easily gone horribly wrong. In the introduction to The Ideology of Conduct, Nancy Armstrong and Leonard Tennenhouse attempt to show how literature and conduct books have been important in relaying these messages and shaping a history of sexuality through the ages. They also point out the interesting fact that these books of conduct have been aimed more at women and far "surpassed in quantity and variety" (Armstrong and Tennenhouse 4) similar types of literature for men. Some of the examples they list of types of conduct literature include pamphlets on marriage, books on manners and morality, and devotional manuals designated for women of the aristocracy. Even in our culture today this type of literature exists in the forms of advertisements, fashion magazines, and exercise books. Again, much of this type of literature is directed at women more than men, which these editors explain as an attempt to specify "what a woman should desire to be if she wishes to attract a socially approved male and keep him happy" (Armstrong and Tennenhouse 5). This makes sense because even today our society is patriarchal, constructed so that women many times have to count on financial support from a man. However, the introduction points out the irony of this, since not only is the desirable woman being defined, but also what a man should find desirable in a woman is defined. also note that this is not necessarily a contradiction, since "the gendered world of information we inhabit today reproduces and maintains the dominant view (Armstrong and Tennenhouse 5). ... ...n," women learn how to be more desirable for men in terms of today's standards. The focus seems to be on independence as well as sexual attractiveness, and although these qualities are quite different from those of the eighteenth century, they are still just as offensive. Just a few of the headings and articles give a clear idea of the messages being sent to women today: "Are you going too far to snag a man?" or "Bikini Body Bummers: Stretch Marks, Bikini Stubble, Flab, Back Acne--You name it, we help you banish it" and even "Cosmo's 10 Commandments" which include, among other things, "ditch the bitchy mood, fall for a nice guy, send thank you notes, keep underwear under cover, and never lose your cool." Even today conduct books remain an integral part of a culture's beliefs and ideals, documenting "a history of sexuality" (Armstrong and Tennenhouse 19) through time. lottiegreen26http://www.blogger.com/profile/01922663594699977172noreply@blogger.com0
